Title	American Smooth. It could be about something jazzy because that's what the word smooth reminds me of.
Paraphrase	This person is recalling a memory of a dance that they and their partner did, they had "achieved flight" meaning not literally flying but, they got so lost in the dance that they forgot where they were at that time.
Connotations	Line 26-"achieved flight", they didn't actually start to fly. They just were lost in the dance that they were performing that they felt as though it were only them two away from the ground. Line 29-31- The Earth didn't really forget that they were there, they, again, were just in their own world.
Attitude	Almost reminiscent to a memory they had about when they and their partner had performed this dance that clearly meant something.
Shifts	It shifts from the poet or speaker saying something that they did, "We were dancing"- then they get into describing the dance and their experience. Line 18-21, line 25-26, they get back to the present tense because they are simply just recalling the memory.
Title	The title, American Smooth, is a type of ball room dancing which is basically what the poem was about. Also in the poem it describes just some of the techniques that are essential to the dance.
Theme	When we feel passionate about something we can get lost just for a little.
